The Old Guard was SO fucked up for being like “we’re all immortal with a single catch that any of our deaths could be the last.” Then have two of them being romantically involved for CENTURIES and every single time they die together, in the back of their minds, they wonder if the other is going to get back up with them.

ndcw is so tragic to me bc they took one of my favorite things in the world (nancy drew) and combined it with more of my favorite things in the world (murder mystery, supernatural elements) but then ruined Everything in just a matter of episodes
#it getting cancelled was the best news to Me#off the bat calling ned nick was a red flag to me but so way george not being a lesbian#*was#but anyway after they broke up ned and nancy and then didnt even let them try to get back together it was downhill for me#i still like s1 but when they started introducing the ned/george relationship 🤢#like sorry theyre best friends. and george is a lesbian#and dont even get me started on all the relationships they put nancy in but n*ce especially . FUCK n*ce always and forever#i was popping major bottles when they killed off owen in s1 i wanted ace to die so bad in the s3 finale bc i hate him sm#i liked him at first but n*ce made me hate his guts#at least i have solace in the fact that n*ce shippers only get this show while nedcy is forever canon and has been for nearly 100 years#in every other iteration of nancy drew <333#also in s4 if they reveal ace is actually joe hardy i Will commit acts of insane violence. thats MY boy get the fuck away from him#im very rarely a multishipper but i hate nancy/either of the hardy boys (but especially frank in the ndpc games) So much#its literally nedcy or bust for me idc#and it had a banger cast too. like kennedy tunji leah and maddison SLAYED as their respective characters. like they were perfect#the writers just fumbled and flopped BIG time#anyway the version of nd that exists in my head you will always be famous. ill write that fic ive been planning for years eventually#r.txt

Watch: EVANESCENCE's AMY LEE Joins HALESTORM For 'Break In' Performance At Canadian Tour Kick-Off
EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee joined HALESTORM on stage last night (Tuesday, October 15) at the Vancouver stop of the two bands' joint Canadian tour to perform the HALESTORM song "Break In". Fan-filmed video of the performance can be seen below.
In August 2020, HALESTORM released the official music video for a reimagined version of "Break In", featuring a guest appearance by Lee. The new version of the track, which originally appeared on HALESTORM's second album, 2012's "The Strange Case Of..." , was recorded in October 2019 at a Nashville studio with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who had previously worked with both bands. The clip captured Hale and Lee delivering an impassioned studio performance of the track.
The updated "Break In" appeared on "Halestorm Reimagined", a collection of reworked HALESTORM original songs as well as a cover of "I Will Always Love You", the love ballad made famous by Whitney Houston and Dolly Parton.
Lzzy and Amy performed a quarantine rendition of "Break In" in May 2020 on Hale's Internet show "Raise Your Horns With Lzzy Hale".
Speaking about the collaboration, Lzzy told Amy: "What I love about dueting on that song with you is that it started out as as love song that I wrote for my significant other" — referring to HALESTORM guitarist Joe Hottinger — "but when we sing it together, it's this act of unity, especially with the two of us being women and being women musicians. It's like we have each other's backs. And the lyrics mean something completely different when I sing it [with you]."
Regarding the way the new version of "Break In" was recorded, Lzzy said: "We did it performance-style, literally next to each other in the same room — from beginning of song to end of song, singing with each other.
"I've never done anything like that, but especially with a female singer of your prowess."
Amy added: "Nick always gets the challenge and gets the most out of me… So he made us stand there in the room and sing it live together a bunch of times. What that really means is that editing, you couldn't use when you did something cool but I messed up; it would have to be that we both nailed it for it to make the cut. So to do it in that way was really challenging and it was really cool and it fits the song so well.
"I remember you saying, and we both were saying, when we were listening back, it's really weird, at times — I know my part, but you can't pick out whose voice that is in that one particular moment, 'cause we started matching each other, 'cause it was on the spot. It's really cool how that happens.
"It feels like a match. It doesn't feel like any one person is pulling the other person along a little bit or leading the train. It really felt like an evenly matched dance."
Lzzy and Amy originally performed "Break In" together in 2012 during the "Carnival Of Madness" tour, which was headlined by EVANESCENCE and featured HALESTORM in the support slot. At the time, Hale told Zoiks! Online about how the live collaboration came about: "It's funny. We had talked in the beginning of the tour, 'Oh, we should do something.' What would we do? Do we do a cover? Do I come out during her set? She came up to me, I think it was two weeks in and said, 'I'm obsessed with your song 'Break In' right now.' I was like, 'Thank you so much.' Then she said, 'I know all of your parts, all the backing parts and everything.' I was like, 'Sweet, that's awesome.' Then she said, 'This is going to sound really weird and please feel free to say no, but do you think I could come up during that song and sing it with you?' I'm, like, 'Of course. This is awesome.' We didn't have a whole lot of time to rehearse. We literally ran through it once before our show in El Paso, right before the doors opened. It was perfect. I told her, queue insane crowd noise. She was like, 'Oh, I don't know.' 'No, seriously — they're going to freak when you walk out on stage.' ... [And] they did. We couldn't hear each other for the first four lines."
Back in 2021, EVANESCENCE and HALESTORM joined forces for a massive North American tour that ended up being a rousing success.

This is totally random, but as far as the JONAS (LA) X BTR crossover (either one, really) goes...
Macy's favorite of the btr boys is carlos, because sports, and also bc he's just fun to hang out with. macy seems normal and put together at first, but she loves physical activity, as we know from s1, and carlos (platonically) matches her freak in the places nick doesn't
Stella's favorite is...and isn't james. she's basically that post that's like "you're in his dms. i'm pissing him off, i'm ruining his day" but in the most convoluted way possible, they also, platonically, match each other's freak. all in all, stella would rather spend time with the other girls, and she obviously adores joe, bc he understands her thoroughly, but james is like...the opposite. they understand each other and fucking hate it.
Katie and Frankie deserve the most insane sublot that builds up over time, until their scheme eventually collides with the main plotline and wreaks absolute havoc. they're ten years old and evil geniuses with famous brothers, you know the two of them meeting will bite everyone in the ass in the end.
I do think Nick and Logan would get along, but the thing is, logan is a science and math nerd and nick is a writing and music nerd. they're slightly different species of nerd. but I think nick would get along best with logan and kendall, bc even though they can go off the deep end sometimes, they're easier to handle than carlos and james.
I'm gonna ramble about Kevin and Lucy again bc I want to. it's so hard for me to imagine lucy with like, any other guy, just bc james is clearly gay, and the subplot with her and kendall was a total mess since he hadn't broken up with jo first... Anyway, they're both rockstars, and Kevin had a lot of character development in s2. he's kind, responsible, ambitious, and Lucy is headstrong, confident, and clever. I feel like they'd actually have a very normal relationship timeline compared to a lot of other ships/couples, simply bc by the time they're both in the narrative they're 18/19 and living on their own.
Joe...he would get along best with kendall, not just for the main character energy, but also bc I feel like they react similarly in a lot of situations, but joe is also a little more self-sufficient than kendall is, which isn't a bad thing, and is mostly due to living in la without his parents for a/multiple (depends on crossover fic) summer(s), whereas kendall's always had his mom and friends doing everything together.
Kevin's an interesting one, bc while s1 era kevin would definitely be best friends with carlos, by the time jonas la rolls around he's mellowed out. he's still a little dramatic sometimes, but post-HMA Kevin is very different bc of the responsibility for his brothers he gained over the summer. I feel like he'd sort of keep that older brother role he's grown into, so, besides his relationship with lucy, he's mostly helping clean up the trouble and not cause it. at the same time though, i think he'd get wrapped up in the katie and frankie subplot the most
Joe and Camille would also get along pretty well, mostly bc they have acting in common, with joe wanting advice from camille solely due to her years of experience. she's also easier to talk to than bigger names in the industry, so it's more of leaning on a friend instead of a mentor
Jo and Macy definitely spar every so often, mostly bc jo likes that there's another girl around that she can connect with about physical sports. it's not the same trying to spar with kendall, and now she has someone who's an even match against her.
Mona is one of the few people that aren't afraid to go toe to toe against griffin, given she doesn't work for him, and she's definitely screamed at him for Kelly's sake. gustavo is a little afraid of mona, and rightfully so. she's proud of that.
Still no one likes DZ
#jonas#jonas la#big time rush#btr#*sigh* and now the character tags#macy misa#stella malone#joe lucas#nick lucas#kevin lucas#frankie lucas#mona jonas la#again: mona from jonas not mona from my mutuals#dz jonas la#no one fucking likes dz#stop entering people's houses without being invited in and maybe more people would like you#carlos garcia#james diamond#kendall knight#logan mitchell#camille roberts#jo taylor#arthur griffin#gustavo rocque#kelly wainwright#katie knight#lucy stone#la is ours#jo's friends and joe's brothers: what kind of chaos...#thalassic arson

* MY BEST FRIEND IS A ROCKSTAR: (tw: death) muse a & muse b have been best friends since they were kids and grew up together. throughout their childhood, muse b had always told muse a about his plans to become a famous musician and as he grew older, became more and more determined to make those dreams come true. when they both hit their teen years, feelings eventually grew and the two were head over heels for each other but neither of them was ever able to admit it. they were both terrified that the feelings would be unrequited or that it would ruin their friendships so just imagine the angst of them seeing each other with other people and FGHDFG. anyway, when muse b finally turns twenty-one, he decides to move to hollywood to make his dreams come true, and muse a stays in their small hometown. they keep in contact with one another but as time went on, muse b becomes a huge rockstar with his band and their contact start to drift but they always had each other in their thoughts, wishing they were closer to one another. a few years pass and they still speak but it’s not like before. muse b was hugely successful and enjoyed the life he was now living but always felt like something was missing. that someone was missing… it’s not until he gets a distraught call from muse a telling him that her mother died does he rush on a private jet and comes home to her. after helping her arrange the funeral and being there for her through her grief, he suggests that she comes on tour with him and the band. wanting to run away from everything and everyone in her small town, she agrees. queue cute ass moments on the tour bus, traveling the world and falling in love like they did when they were young. add drama, angst ( because they’re both still dumb and won’t admit to their feels) stadium tours, TENSION!!!, groupies, etc, etc.

I don't have Twitter, I think it's a toxic cesspool, you can rarely find positivity there, and it's hard to find it while walking past tons of hate, so I haven't looked at Twitter for a long time. I've had enough with Instagram, although it's getting on my nerves more and more and I'm thinking of sending it like Twitter. I'm not surprised by the stupid and toxic fans of joe and I don't even want to know what exactly they write. They are just worthless and envious. They cannot accept the truth that joe is not perfect, that he is a disgusting cheater, that he is a psychological abuser. Look at the latest rumors that his new permanent girlfriend may be pregnant, and the divorce is not even finalized and the issue of custody is still being resolved, this is the kind of scandal, if it is true. And by the way, this is not the first rumor about his girlfriend after the divorce, who was maybe pregnant and the other is more younger. And his fans swallow even such trash and try to fight back and justify joe. That's why they attack Sophie, they try toslander her so that joe can be better in the public yeys. But I'm sure all their attempts are poor. And it's so funny that they think joe is more popular than Sophie. It's funny, she's famous all over the world, she's a popular actress, and he's just a mediocre musician with his brothers, his fans should kiss Sophie's feet and worship her like a goddes, if it wasn't for her there wouldn't be a jonas brothers reunion and if it wasn't for Sophie joe now although he might not be popular, he is popular only because he was the husband of Sophie Turner herself and always followed her by the tail to all her events, but she was at his events only a few times, much less often than he was at hers, and he always called her to some of his interviews, etc., so that she would appear at least for a moment and increase his views, etc. etc. That's why his fans are poor mind. Without Sophie, joe was forgotten with his not very popular group, they seem to have had only one hit, nick was more popular solo. That's why joe is who he is now only because of Sophie and it pisses me off how he treats her and treated her, I never loved him, but I put up with it for Sophie's sake and now I'm glad that she's free from him and that she's thriving now. It's just a pity that because of the children she won't be completely free and she will still have to deal with him, and I really hope for a higher percentage of custody for her. Wait when the divorce and custody will be completed. That's why he and his fans are nothing but worthless and stupid. Sophie is so beautiful and her new hairdo suits her very well. Waiting for a promo for Joan. Sorry for so many words, accumulated over a very long time. Have a good day!
Hi !
Twitter can be a very toxic place, indeed. I don't use it that much. I barely post. I only check the Sophie Turner hashtag to read the news. I mean the movies announcement for example first started on Twitter.
I don't really want to talk about the pregnancy rumors. It only started because of a picture she posted on Instagram. I find it extremely weird when people (fans) start commenting on people's body. Honestly, they should talk about the fact Stormi started dating a minor, then married him and had a child with him. That's such a weird thing.
Oh yes, he was very much a fan of Game of Thrones and while I understand being overjoyed your girlfriend is on the show, it was always weird. Like his birthday cake on which he was sitting on the Iron throne and Sophie was just there by his side. And he was very happy going to LV shows with her. (I remember his family suddendly wearing LV when they started dating). He was her plus one at the MET gala too. Nick kinda did the same with Priyanka. But he seems far more respectfull towards her. But I don't know much about them.
The Jonas brothers got back together because Nick wanted to. It's Sophie being closed to her brothers that inspired Joe to accept. I remember him saying it in an interview. And Sucker was so damn successful because Danielle, Priyanka and Sophie appeared in it. Even the brothers know it. Their fans obviously less so when they claim Joe made Sophie popular. They probably don't even care that the Jonas brothers have a hard time selling the tickets for their concerts. It just shows they're not as popular as they were when with Disney...
For Sophie, I like her new haircut too. It looks pretty. And it changes a lot from long hair. I believe we have to wait this summer for promo if Joan really gets released in September.

@indynerdgirl requested: numbers 2, 10, and 72 from the random prompts list (so sorry this took me so long to get to love)
|| prompt list ||
prompts: "Wait a minute. Are you jealous?" + "I've seen the way you look at me when you think I don't notice." + "You were put on this earth to give me a headache."
au: nfl
word count: 2183
warnings: drinking, jake being a little shit, some smooching and heavy petting, ronnie has a praise kink and that's just facts
In the 2020 season, the Indianapolis Colts didn’t make it past Wildcard Weekend. Which was disappointing, obviously; but it only added fuel to the fire to perform even better next season and make it all the way to that coveted title of Super Bowl Champion. For now, though, the team was packed into the quarterback's house in order to watch those two teams that did make it all the way duke it out on live TV.
The Rams versus the Bengals. Most of the Colts were rooting for that Cincinnati team. Something about AFC teams needing to stick together. At least it wasn’t the fucking Patriots again.
One of the party goers, and Bengals supporters, included new Tight Ends Coach Ronnie Bradshaw.
She had only been with the team the last few weeks of the season, but she fit in like she had always been there. A Hoosier born and raised, and the daughter of Nick Bradshaw, a famous NFL wide receiver himself, Ronnie had been around football her entire life. She not only knows the game inside and out, but even played it herself when she could. She brought something new and fresh to the team that hadn’t been there in a long time. Everyone could see it. The players, the other coaches, the sport’s greatest critics. Ronnie seemed made for the Colts’ offensive coaching staff — and maybe she was just the breath of fresh air they needed to get them that title they so craved.
“Gotta admit though, Joe Burrow is a little cutie,” Ronnie commented as she sipped on her White Claw.
The party was too big for everyone to be in one room, and she ended up on the main floor living room. Sitting cross legged on the couch with a few of the players’ girlfriends and wives. Two lucky guys got the armchairs, but most who decided to watch in that room were sitting on the floor, backs leaning against the couch.
Including tight end Jake Seresin. Who just so happened to be sitting right in front of his new coach.
He turned to look up at her with a smirk. “Is that a bit of a crush I hear, Coach?”
“Sure,” she laughed, a slight blush tinting her cheeks at the thought. “Cincy’s not too far. We could make it work.”
The WAG sitting next to her asked a question about Burrow’s career, and Ronnie provided the information with ease. But out of the corner of her eyes, she saw Seresin’s face sour. Clearly her answer wasn’t the one he was looking for. Though she was unsure what answer he would want from her.
Now that the season was over, her interactions with Seresin had been…off. She really couldn’t put a finger on it. He had always been flirty. And as player and coach there was a mutual respect lining the jokes and teasing they often shared. But lately, whenever she turned his flirty remarks into jokes at his expense, he didn’t give anything back. He didn’t laugh. He almost seemed…hurt by it. His smile less genuine and the yes…and-ing cut off abruptly.
The game went to commercial break, and Ronnie’s White Claw was empty. Taking the opportunity, she got up from the couch for a refill. She never really cared about the commercials anyway. They hadn’t been funny since she was a kid.
Throwing her empty can into the recycling, she got a plastic cup and began filling it with water from the fridge. She still had to drive home later, after all. She was thankful for the quiet in the kitchen. There was no one else in there, but distantly she could hear the muffled sounds of laughter and jeering. It made her smile. This team was closer than most she worked with, and so far there’d been no talk of trades or free agency. It was a dream team, they all knew it, they just had to find their spark. And Ronnie hoped she could help them.
“Thinkin’ about that Burrow kid again, Coach?” Seresin asked as he walked into the kitchen.
Ronnie jumped. Jesus, she didn’t even hear him coming. For such a big guy, he would be very stealthy.
She rolled her eyes, pulling her full cup from the fridge door. “And what if I was?”
“I’d have to call you a cougar, I think,” he replied as he picked through the snacks laid out on the kitchen island.
“Hilarious.” Ronnie leaned back against the counter beside him. “I’m not that much older than him. We could still make it work.”
“Whatever,” he grumbled before tossing a jalapeno popper into his mouth.
All she could do was stare up at his profile for a moment. At the bulging muscle in his jaw as he chewed with a bit more force than necessary and the unreadable look in his green eyes.
It came as no surprise to her when Jake Seresin was just as pretty as the photos and videos implied. Because that’s what he was: pretty. He had a face like something out of old Hollywood. It made no sense when paired with his perfect Tight End physique. It made him too good to be true in some ways. What was even worse was that he knew it too. Used it to his advantage in nearly every city they travelled to. But even his reputation and his smug awareness didn’t stop her from thinking about him from time to time. And definitely not in a way a coach should think about one of their players.
Seresin glanced down at her as he put another jalapeno popper in his mouth. And it clicked. Green wasn’t just the color in his eyes right now.
“Wait a minute. Are you jealous?” she questioned, teasing and quiet, as she smirked up at him.
“Of Joe Burrow? Absolutely not,” he answered just a little too quickly, hands coming to rest on the island.
“Oh, my God, you totally are,” she laughed.
He glared down at her. “Why would I be jealous?”
“‘Cause I said I think he’s cute and not you,” she explained, her smirk only growing as she watched his jaw tick to one side.
A sure sign he was getting frustrated and a sure sign she was right. A thrill went up her spine at the thought. That maybe there was something more going on besides the off season and him wanting to distance himself. Because that was the opposite of what she wanted, deep in some secret part of her heart that housed everything else she knew was wrong but desired anyway.
“Well do you?” he questioned suddenly, turning completely to face her with his hip against the counter.
It threw her off balance as she gazed up at him. “Do I what?”
“Think I’m cute.”
“You’re avoiding the question,” she said with a shake of her head, looking down at her socks as heat filled her cheeks.
“So are you.”
“I asked mine first.”
“Mine is more relevant.”
“Jesus Christ,” she groaned, rubbing at her temple. “Were you put on this earth to give me a headache?”
“New question — negates your previous one.” He grinned impishly at her and she huffed.
The chatter died down in the other parts of the house. The game must be back on. People would start to wonder where they were. Ronnie pushed away from the counter and away from Seresin.
“Fine. Don’t give me an answer. I can live without it,” she said, even though it wasn’t true.
She wanted to know. She wanted to know if he was jealous of some other football player just because she thought he was attractive. She wanted to know if he felt even an iota of what she felt whenever she was around him. Like electricity, like a forest fire — like something powerful but devastating. But it was clear from his teasing that he wasn’t actually jealous, he didn’t feel anything. And she was making a fool of herself. Them having a relationship, even a casual one, was probably off limits anyway. A good way for her to get fired before her career even really got the chance to begin.
With every intention of going back to the living room and finishing watching the third quarter, and trying to forget this disastrous conversation, Ronnie took a step away from Seresin.
But then she felt one big hand encompass her wrist, and in an instant she was spun back around to face him again. His expression was unreadable as he pulled her in close. And she went willingly, no fight and no resistance as she drifted into his orbit. About to crash. Eventually, she was nearly chest to chest with him, and her water was taken out of her hands. Set down on the counter behind him.
“So what if I’m jealous?” he asked quietly, voice rumbling in his chest as his fingers slid down to hold her hand instead.
“New question — negates your previous one,” Ronnie breathed back, overwhelmed but not feeling nearly enough.
He laughed with a shake of his head. “You drive me insane.”
She shrugged, trying to keep her cool in the face of his proximity and the feeling of his fingers playing with her own. “Feeling’s mutual.”
“But I’ve seen the way you look at me when you think I don’t notice,” he said, voice dropped an octave as he pulled her even closer, between his spread legs as he leaned back against the island.
“Like you haven’t looked at me the same way, Seresin,” she scoffed quietly.
“So the feeling’s mutual, then.” He smirked, his other hand coming up to cup her cheek.
He was so close now. She could feel his breath, jalapenos and beer, fanning her face. There was no buzz, no fogged brain. Her mind was clear. White Claws be damned. She knew the risks. Knew it was probably a mistake. But in that moment she couldn’t bring herself to care. All of her life she had done the right thing — and maybe she deserved an indulgence. He was there, this had been building for weeks, and a girl had needs. Needs that she very much wanted Jake Seresin to fill.
“Guess so,” she whispered, glancing down at his parted lips.
Seresin looked at her for a moment more, expression all heat and desire, before he muttered fuck it and dove into her. His kiss was insistent, hungry, rough. He instantly pried her lips open with his tongue and pushed his way inside. It felt like a claiming as he tilted her head just the way he wanted and licked into her mouth. It was the kind of kiss that made her dizzy, that made her want more and more. She kissed him back with just as much ferocity, hands fisting his crewneck as she twirled her tongue around his own.
When he finally drank his fill of her, he pulled away with his teeth sunk into her bottom lip. A soft moan slipped out of her at the sting. He released the swollen, pink flesh with a grin.
“You like when it hurts a little, Coach?” he questioned.
All she could do was groan in response as she wrapped her arms around his neck and dragged him down into another kiss. Seresin chuckled against her lips, but it quickly dissolved into a grunt when she pressed her hips flush against his own. His hands grabbed, searched, explored. Up and down her back. Over her ass, her thighs. Into her long dark hair that was actually down for once. Ronnie’s heart raced at what this could mean. Where it could go. But underneath that she knew it was the thrill of doing something she shouldn’t for once in her life — and getting caught in the quarterback’s kitchen. Anyone could walk in. Anyone could see his tongue shoved down her throat and her fingers clawing into the back of his neck.
Jake pulled away first again, panting for breath as he leaned to whisper in her ear, “What do you say we finish watching the game…Then you and me head out early? Hmm? Go back to your place?”
She shouldn’t. She really shouldn’t. She was his coach, he was one of her players.
But an answer was coming out of her mouth before she could be more rational about it: “Yes…Please.”
“Good girl.”
Ronnie felt her breath hitch, her toes curl, at his praise. And from the smug smirk on his face, he knew that she liked it. Jake let her go with one last kiss and her water pressed back into her hand. Then she turned and went back to the living room, trying to get control of her shaking legs and the heat filling her cheeks.
Sitting back down on the couch, she noticed the game was on another commercial break.
“Jesus, Coach, where you been? You missed nearly the entire third quarter! Rams are up by three,” Garcia filled her in and she nodded, mind still reeling.
“You seen Jake?” Machado asked.
She shook her head. “No. Haven’t seen him.”

@asundered feat. nick dunne
amy, you can’t seriously tell me that you married this idiot ?
i know, retract my claws lest i scratch myself with hypocrisy. forty’s famous last words ring loud and clear in my eardrums. my brother lives in my head and i can practically see him clicking his tongue in my direction. i push forty back into the depths of my guilt and focus on the situation at hand. i too married an idiot, amy. we’re both women who made mistakes in life but there’s no reason we can’t learn from them. my own idiot is somewhere in the local library figuring out who he wanted to fuck next while rearranging aisles by the dewey decimal system. much too preoccupied to worry himself about what his doting wife was getting up to, which is fine by me. gives me more time to fix some problems for you. for you amy, i’m handling the biggest thorn in your side. he’s a rather heavy one at that.
it took all my strength to carry nick dunne into the basement of fresh tart. i didn’t intend him any harm when he came in asking for a box of pastries. in fact, i never meant to get involved in the first place. you with your picture perfect marriage and mine with my … well, it’s complicated. but when he came in asking for an order that i just knew wasn’t your regular, i couldn't just stand there watching. women like us are always taken for granted. we forget to remind our husbands that we are a privilege not a right and in turn, we are made the villains. oh the laundry list of reasons joe could rattle off for why he can’t keep it in his pants. i see him in nick. not all of him, but the dirtiest parts. you see, joe isn’t all bad. it’s why i put up with it. the good, and he’s so good sometimes, makes it easy to forget the bad. but your husband ? he’s rotten to the core.
❝ awake ? ❞ i ask when he finally stirs. my face contorts into one of faux concern and i scoot closer to him inside the plexiglass walls. ❝ oh, thank god. i was so scared you had a concussion after that fall, and i had nowhere to lay you down so i panicked but i didn’t want to overreact and call the ambulance and, ❞ i trail off with a shaky breath as if my quick succession of lies have rattled me. i reach out to gingerly touch the bleeding gash on his forehead where he had collided with the bakery counter. a natural reaction for someone hit in the back with a chair. i hope you understand, nick, i’m no monster. but i also hope you understand that i need to know if you are. i need to know for amy's sake. ❝ i should call amy, ❞ i say as i start to get up. ❝ she must be so concerned that you’re taking so long picking up blueberry scones. ❞
#asundered#[ 𝓛 : v. madre linda ] ❦ 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐧-𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐬 .#please don't perceive me this got so long#but thinking nick came in asked for a box of scones that isn't what amy normally gets#love has a feeling he's been sleeping around and she knows well enough those scones aren't for amy#so she does waht love does best <3 murderous thoughts <3#this is literally just s3 au where instead of joe and the neighbour it's love and amy (the neighbour) HASJKFA

2024 Super Megafest Wrap-Up
This is the season of comic conventions. Just a few weeks ago I got to cover Fan Expo Boston. This past weekend I got to cover MetroWest's super fun Super Megafest at the Verve Hotel in Natick, MA. The last time I attended was in 2016 when I got to chat with William Zabka. This year was loads of fun!
logo
I must be in the right place if the Ecto-1 is parked outside!
Here are some of the highlights of the Super Megafest guests I got to speak with:
Roger Christian
Production designer and set decorator Roger Christian is a significant part of the Star Wars Universe. He won an Academy Award for his Set Decorating on Star Wars Episode 4. He was also a 2nd Unit Director on Star Wars Episode 6 and Episode 1. With so many Star Wars spin-off series now on Disney+ and films in development, I asked if he might possibly return to the Star Wars Universe? He said "They have such a different attitude about it now without George Lucas. When they were doing The Clone Wars, I got them some stuff that I had and they interviewed me. It's just kind of a different mode." He is also working on a book and a documentary about his experience with Star Wars.
Christian is also a director and I wanted to ask him about directing the 1985 music video for Arcadia's "Election Day". He said "A friend of mine, George Miller who directs the Mad Max movies, they'd asked George to do it, but he said 'I can't do this, but here's Roger Christian'. I met with the managers and came up with some ideas at the time. I thought the song was amazing, they were big. So I got the job and had to go to New York. I met Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes and hung out. They took me to see Tina Turner live. When I heard the track I had an inspiration of Jean Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast [the 1946 film]. We went to Paris to film it. There was this film Round Midnight where they re-created some famous jazz clubs, so I was able to use that. It stands up today". I remembered getting that 45 single from my sister at the holiday. I remembering seeing it on V66, which was based in Natick and now I was meeting the music video directing in Natick!
Bruce Kulick
Musician Bruce Kulick was the guitarist for Kiss from 1984-1996, the era after the classic line-up and without make-up. He's done some solo albums and has played with a number of other bands, but as a longtime fan of Kiss, I always enjoyed that era of Kiss. The 1993 live album Alive III is one of my favorites of all the Kiss live albums. I asked Mr. Kulick if he had a favorite Kiss album he was on? He said "Each one of the albums I was on I had highlights. I always felt that Revenge was a great album. A real no-compromise kind of vibe. I got to find a good voice of lead playing too. I had a great time working with Bob Ezrin too." That's also a great album as the late great Eric Carr recorded some tracks before he died in 1991. Mr. Kulick said "He got to do the video and some background vocals on 'God Gave Rock 'n' Roll to You II'.
Ron Rudat
The Father of G.I. Joe, Ron Rudat designed every G.I. Joe figure that was released by Hasbro from 1982-1986. Countless figures I, myself, played with constantly as a kid. [Full disclosure: Ron's son is a friend of mine from college and I knew of him, but never met him until this convention]. I asked if he had a favorite G.I. Joe figure? He said "Everyone asks me that. I always say, they're all my favorite figures."
Christopher Atkins
Everyone knows actor Christopher Atkins for his starring role opposite Brooke Shields in The Blue Lagoon. But I know him for a a film that I worked on. In 2001, my friend Dan Hannon was a producer on the indie film The Color of Water, which filmed in NH. He brought my friend and I in as production assistants. I never saw the final film, but I asked Mr. Atkins about his memories of filming that movie? "There were spectacular views of that location. The lake was crystal clear. It was one of the most scenic locations, besides Blue Lagoon, that I've ever filmed at." He said he actually lives in New England now and is in the process of raising funds for a film to shoot here.
Nicholas Hammond
After getting his start as a child actor in Lord of the Flies and The Sound of Music, actor Nicholas Hammond is known to genre fans as the first live-action Peter Parker / Spider-Man after he appeared in the TV series The Amazing Spider-Man (CBS 1977-1979) and the three TV movies that aired between 1977 and 1981. In the last Spider-Man movie Spider-Man: No Way Home with the multiverse of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield joining Tom Holland, I asked Mr. Hammond if he just wanted to see him join in as well? He laughed and said "Well, I would've liked to. I think the fans would've thought it was really fun to have all of the Peter Parkers in one film. You never know, it may still happen in the future, but that was a golden opportunity to do it. I mean I'm not an executive at Sony, I don't know why they do that they do, but I do know it annoyed a lot of fans. I got an awful lot of response to that myself. I mean these things happen, but I would've loved to have done something like that just for the sheer fun of being part of all that again. But at the same time, I'm very grateful I created the character. I feel proud of the fact that something we did for very little money back in the 70s has grown into this huge franchise globally that the whole world loves."
Hammond as Sam Wanamaker in OUATIH
The other big thing I know Mr. Hammond for was his portrayal of director Sam Wanamaker in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (which I named my #1 Movie of 2019). I asked him what it was like working with QT and making the film about that era in Hollywood? He said "Funny enough, Quentin is a big fan of this Spider-Man series as well. He ran the pilot episode in his movie theater in Hollywood the New Beverly Cinema as a double feature with Tobey Maguire's first Spider-Man. I've always been a fan of Quentin Tarantino and when I heard he was running the pilot at his theater, I said to my manager 'I'd just love to meet him'. I had no idea he was making another movie. So I went in and met with him. We talked about Spider-Man quite a lot and he began talking about westerns that I'd been in back in the 60s and 70s. He asked if I had ever worked with Sam Wanamaker, I said I knew who he is. And that was the end of the conversation, I thought that was a really fascinating chat. Then soon after, I got a call asking if I wanted to play Wanamaker in the movie. It came out of the blue, but it turned out to be one of the best things I've ever done in my life. I just loved every minute of it. For me it was like time travel, because being on that set where everything was immaculately reconstructed like it was 1969, I first went to Hollywood in 1970 as a grown-up. So I just walked in and it looked the way everything had looked when I first arrived in Hollywood. It was huge fun to do and Wanamaker was such a big theatrical kind of guy. It was great playing a character that was so fun like that."
Wesley Eure
Actor, musician, author, producer Wesley Eure is known for playing Will on Sid and Marty Krofft's Land of the Lost (CBS 1974-1976), while he was on Days of Our Lives at the same time. But in addition to Land of the Lost, another staple of my childhood was the Nickelodeon game show Finders Keepers (1987-1989), which Eure produced and hosted. That was the era of game shows where you had a limited amount of time to ransack a room or an obstacle course. What was his experience like? Eure says "It was so much fun! We shot 5 shows a day, a whole week. They brought in schools. It was in Philadelphia on an IMAX theater that was tall enough for the two-story set of all the rooms."
Kathy Coleman
Speaking of Land of the Lost, Eure's co-star Kathy Coleman was there as well. I asked what her favorite creature on Land of the Lost was? Coleman says "Probably Dopey. He was my pet brontosaurus. I got to ride him and I loved riding horses, so it was just a fun day on the set."
Jackson Bostwick
Actor Jackson Bostwick is known for the title role in TV's Shazam! (CBS 1974-1976). But I was excited to ask him about playing a sentry in the 1985 sci-fi comedy My Science Project. Bostwick says "It was fine. We shot that in Tucson. They blacked out the city. But it was fun. Good cast. I enjoyed it, a good two weeks out in Tucson."
Sid Krofft
There were a ton of staples of 70s and 80s pop culture at this year's Super Megafest, but the one who co-created so much of my childhood TV intake was Mr. Sid Krofft (who turns 95 this month). The puppeteer, TV creator and producer and his late great brother Marty created many shows I got into when I saw them in syndication as a kid, notably The Banana Splits Adventure Hour (NBC 1968-1970), H.R. Pufnstuf (NBC 1969-1970), The Bugaloos (NBC 1970-1972), Sigmund and the Sea Monsters (NBC 1973-1975), Land of the Lost (NBC 1974-1977), and Pryor’s Place (CBS 1984-1985). All shows I remember fondly as a kid and really enjoyed watching the wacky almost drug-induced puppets getting into crazy situations each episode. In addition to the children's shows, he reminded me that he did 26 series including Donnie & Marie (ABC 1976-1979) and The Brady Bunch Hour (ABC 1976-1977) as well. He says "I've had and I'm still having the most incredible career. This is my 84th year in show business. Before television, I was a performer. In 1946, I was here [Massachusetts] with the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. When the big top sat 15,000 people. I'm a puppeteer and one of the biggest honors I ever had was when the biggest star in the world was going out on her first tour, for a whole year we toured the country and I was her opening act. It was Judy Garland." I asked Mr. Krofft of all the shows he produced or created what stood as his personal favorite? He says "It has to be your first child, which was H.R. Pufnstuf. Before that I only created and built the costumes for The Banana Splits. That's what got us into television since that was a big hit, the network asked us to come up with an idea. We never did a pilot. We sold everyone based on an art show of the characters and the executives would sit around and I would tell them the story with pictures. So that's how it all happened. I'm still working! I tell everyone when they ask me where I came up with all my ideas, ever since I was 10 years old, I went left. Everyone else goes right. So take the chance and go left!" I fully agree. Mr. Krofft is truly a TV legend and he could not have been any nicer!

Watch: EVANESCENCE Joined By HALESTORM's LZZY HALE For 'Bring Me To Life' Performance In Ontario
HALESTORM's Lzzy Hale joined EVANESCENCE on stage Tuesday night (October 29) at the London, Ontario stop of the two bands' joint Canadian tour to perform the EVANESCENCE smash hit "Bring Me To Life". Fan-filmed video of her appearance can be seen below.
At most of the shows on the Canadian tour, EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee had been joining HALESTORM on stage to perform the HALESTORM song "Break In".

I know that the doylist reason that Kevin L Joe L and Nick L seem to have no friends besides Stella, Macy, and that one guy who showed up for one episode (and was confirmed to be a Joe friend only that everyone else had to put up with) is for cast size reasons, but the watsonian theory that the Lucas bros…actually don’t seem to have any friends? is a bummer.
So! What kind of a friend do you think they be? What (platonicly) attracts them to a person? They obviously love their siblings, but the personality traits of a sibling are not always what you seek in a friend. Are they the type to have a few close friends, or a large group? Are they the “shared activities” type or the “parallel play” type? Do they need to be the friend group boss, or does someone else take that role? How good are they at texting back?
I always read them as not having many friends because of their lives. Like yeah they go to a "normal" school but they're still famous musicians who constantly have fans outside their home night or day. So people won't really want to come over and Big Man isn't big on letting them go to random homes.
Also as someone who's never had many friends I believe in quality over quanitity. Especially with them.
The three older Lucas boys are so different - and I'm focusing on them because I bet Frankie is a catch with a bunch of friends.
Kevin likes people he can be himself with. He's weird and gets enough teasing from his brothers so he's going to be looking for someone that matches that energy.
Joe who is always on level 100 wants someone who can match his energy but is actually responsible so he doesn't have to be. I think that's why him and Stella work so perfectly platonically.
Nick wants someone who is smart but a lot of fun. Someone that he doesn't have to be responsible for and will let him cut loose.
I do see them more with a few close friends and not a large group because no doubt they've had their share of people just wanting them for the perks of being famous.
Kevin and Nick seem like they'd be content with parallel play sometimes.
Joe being Joe needs to go out and do something. The only people he can parallel play with is Stella and his brothers but that's because of years built on trust and love. But if they plan a day in he will complain no less than 3 times.
Nick is squad dad 100%. He's always the designated driver when they go out. He's always the one making sure everyone is okay and alive. Sends the first text in the morning when he drops off a drunk Joe to make sure he's alive.
AS FAR AS TEXTING BACK
Kev is pretty good if he's not busy but he knows if he gets rid of the notif he'll forget so he could have a text notif on his phone up to a week before he responds.
Joe is hopeless. Man doesn't like the notifs or red buttons. He claims he'll respond but out of sight out of mind. If you don't get an immediate response from Joe you know you'll have to send a second text in a few hours to remind him. Or else you will never get a response.
Nick ALWAYS texts back immediately. If he's busy he's got a list of who he needs to get back to because he's organized. If Nick doesn't text you back in more than 24hrs you should go make sure he's still breathing.

Lili stans have this weird obsession with the Jonas Brothers now because Lili's irrelevant bf is friends with them 💀 They said we always lose 🤣
Didn't they also hate on Cole for being a former Disney star, now it's a serve to be friends with a few?
I guess they want him to look cooler than Ari. You know how they're constantly hating on Ari too, calling her a broke nobody 🤣
Oh yeah, thanks for this, cuz I was about to comment:
Cole's friends with all three JoeBros.....and their wives. Has been for well over a decade, in fact.....Photographed Sophie before she was a Mrs. JoeBro, like 4 or 5 years agoo....
PP could've met Nick and HIS missus awhile before (in fact, shouldn't she already know them from the Met Galas?), had she bothered herself to attend a VF with Cole---tho I think they were maybe then on the outs/she had been sidepiecing Hart again, at the time....
What's moar interesting here is.....
A) per commoners in attendance, PP looks to be having a miserable time
B) Altho she's moar famous than GymD and presumably would've already met him, apparently while Joe embraced GymD (and others in the VIP section), he completely ignored/snubbed PP. (oh and Cari had just hobnobbed with him and Sophie last month!)
C) So PP is, literally, now "compartmentalizing herself", doing shit she clearly doesn't want to do to please/impress GymD, while being treated rudely and it's a "win"?
Don't think soooooo.....

https://www.theringer.com/music/2022/4/21/23035076/coachella-weekend-1-review-harry-styles-billie-eilish-lil-baby-jamie-xx
This guy is unnecessarily nasty about Harry and I don’t agree with him but interesting take on Coachella and other festivals being increasingly packaged which shouldn’t be surprising, I guess, but is.
Thanks for sending the review through anon.
I did find it hard to connect with at first, because the Coachella he is despairing at is the only Coachella I ever paid attention to. And there's something about someone being all like 'this is an inditement on modern life' about something that you've only ever known that way that has huge 'old man ranting at clouds' vibe. But the point sometimes is to listen to the old man, and learn things you didn't know about how Clouds (or festivals used to be).
I've always found negative reviews of Harry really interesting to think about. I suspect anyone reading this blog will guess that I really enjoyed the first paragraph about Harry:
This is a long way to explain how Coachella went from having Rage Against the Machine as its first headliner into having the Machine be its latest. Let’s be unequivocally clear: Harry Styles seems like a nice lad. His politics are saint simple; he believes in peace, love, equality, and every other utopian notion nearly impossible to eradicate in a world riven by cruelty, avarice, duplicity, and all the other defects hexing the human genome. His motto is “TPWK” (treat people with kindness), which is all well and good when you’re worth an estimated $80 million and dating Ted Lasso’s ex. Stevie Nicks likes him. According to his Wikipedia, he believes in karma. He does pilates and meditates. He’s a pescatarian. He endorsed Joe Biden.
He does get really nasty after that (calling SoTT: 'It sounded created for a Disney biopic about Rod Stewart, which has yet to be cast.' was my favourite of the very pointed barbs) I think nastiness was necessary to the point he's trying to make.
He see Harry as an artist where there's no there there - someone who is good at copying and mimicing and has nothing to say.
Harry Styles is an archetypal artist for the late capitalist drain spiral of ambient streaming and social media thirst: simply far too big and slickly packaged to fail. He rose to fame on a reality show, was coached by Simon Cowell, and made brain-fry famous as one-fifth of a boy band whose distinguishing characteristic was loving both kinds of music: boomer rock and pop. They finished in third place on the reality show, but ended up selling millions. Since he went solo he’s been managed by the son of the most powerful man in the music industry, represented by the world’s most powerful talent agency, and signed to a label owned by a multinational conglomerate that made $11 billion in net income during the first year of the pandemic.
There is a very clear divide in music critics between those who connect with Harry - and those who don't. And those who don't see an emptiness to him, and I don't think that's because they're mean, or snobby, or don't understand. I think it's a very reasonable assessment of Harry, from people who have a lot of knowledge and are very passionate about music. And they can see how much Harry wants to make people happy, and the way he's holding himself back. And the more that he says that he's incredibly free and this is the result, the more reasonable it is for someone for whom this matters to see him as: " a KIDZ BOP version of the Almost Famous soundtrack."
One of my first thoughts when listening to the leaked tracks was: "I don't think that this will persuade the people at Pitchfork who thinks Harry 'sounds like good music' that it is good music".
And I say this as someone whose Coachella performance made my week and brought me huge joy. But like I said, I didn't hear about Coachella until it became an influencer fest. There's lots of things I find really interesting about music culture (which is why I'm here), but I'm not heavily invested in music as an art form.
Party of my curiosity about music culture is listening to critics, not because they're 'right', because 'right' isn't a useful way to respond to criticism. But because they're good at articulating what they see. I'm not saying that it's true that "There is no such thing as a Harry Styles song." - but I do think it's worth thinking about the absense in Harry's work that Jon Weiss is responding to.
#Oh Harry#I find it fucking fascinating#And it makes me glad for the leak#because I can process the album a little bit#before getting inundated with album content
